Back to Cairo

Cairo, Illinois is one of the stranger places I have visited over the years. It’s a relic of a time when commerce was conducted on rivers like the Mississippi. Current estimates have the population as half of what it was even in 2010, let alone the town’s heyday a hundred years ago.

My first visit was in the summer of 2018. Not much has changed from what I remember. Everything is just in a greater state of disrepair.
